ABOUT MMANC

The Municipal Management Association of Northern California is an organization composed of local government management professionals throughout a 49 county area of Northern California. MMANC was formed in 1950 to address the professional needs of public managers.

MMANC is the oldest and one of the largest associations of its kind in the nation and maintains partnerships with the International City/County Management Association, the League of California Cities, and the California State Association of Counties.

MMANC is organized into five regions:

Region 1 - San Francisco and Peninsula, the South San Francisco Bay Area, and the Monterey Bay Area.

Region 2 - North San Francisco Bay Area and the Northern California Coast.

Region 3 - Greater Sacramento Area, North Central Valley, Northern Sierras, and the Siskyou Mountain Area

Region 4 - East San Francisco Bay Area

Region 5 - South Central Valley and Southern Sierras

GOALS OF MMANC

 

To facilitate professional development in municipal management.

To enhance opportunities for professionals pursuing careers in public administration.

To establish a forum for the exchange of ideas, information, research, and experiences among those in municipal management.

To create a communications network between the administrator, academician, and others concerned with developing effective local government.

To provide input and policy recommendations to the League of California Cities, the International City/County Management Association, and other recognized associations.
