Afternoon Session Highlights
Luncheon Speaker & Award Recipients
Luncheon Keynote Katy Simon, county manager of Washoe County, Nevada,
then took to the podium, sharing 10 leadership secrets that you can read
about in her article "
Top 10 Leadership Lessons of Effective Women Leaders."
Pictured alongside her are Connie Jackson and Marcia Raines, city
manager of Millbrae, CA. As depicted in the middle photo above, every year a Rising Star and Lifetime
Achievement Award are presented. This year’s recipients were Molly
Rattigan and Connie Jackson. In this photo, Molly is joined by Nancy Watt, county executive officer of Napa County,
CA. In the last image, Jackson Connie is flanked by San Bruno Fire Chief Dennis Haag and San
Bruno Police Chief Neil Telford. What great support!
Afternoon Session Panel
The afternoon session, “Surviving the Reset," was led by Jennifer
Philips, assistant city manager of Santa Rosa, who spoke of her own
personal reset and asked questions of panel members Bobbi Peckham;
Karen Pinkos, assistant city manager of El Cerrito, CA; and Cathy
Standiford, senior manager with Management Partners. Attendees got to
participate as well, writing on wall posters adjectives that described
themselves and their organizations during this time period. It was clear
that many were feeling the same types of emotions, which the panelists
spoke to.
