12:00 – 1:00 pm
With the opening up of local governments post-pandemic, we see the return of in-person engagement with our communities, but the pandemic has proven the importance of online engagement, too. Along with that, upcoming legislation could impact how we conduct City Council meetings and involve the public in local government business.
Jon Barilone, Director at Tripepi Smith – California’s leading marketing, technology and public affairs firm – will moderate a panel including Institute for Local Government (ILG) Senior Program Manager Melissa Kuehne and Renne Public Law Group (RPLG) Of Counsel Jenica Maldonado to share their perspectives and lessons learned through the pandemic. ILG has provided local government leaders with the guidance and expertise to bring success to their agencies for more than 60 years and is a leader in addressing public policy issues. RPLG legal advice and advocacy services for dozens of public agencies, nonprofits and private organizations.
Attendees will acquire a deeper understanding of the future of public engagement, how to best navigate these changes and learn about new requirements they are facing as a result of legislative edicts.
