In uncertain times, the ability to try new things and pilot innovative ways to respond to our communities is a welcome silver lining. Join the City of Novato and the City of Hayward for a discussion on programs they’ve implemented during the COVID pandemic to support their community members and small businesses. Novato will present their Small Business Relief Fund and discuss best practices they’ve discovered in offering a community-funded grant to help keep businesses afloat during Shelter in Place and subsequent orders. Hayward staff will discuss their Pop-Up Food Distribution program, key learnings about food access, and how the City utilizes a racial equity lens in their COVID-19 responses.
