“MMANC was and still is the premier organization for public service professionals.”

Hazel Wetherford, 2014 MMANC President

As the 71st anniversary of MMANC continues, we are happy to celebrate another past president that has lead MMANC to many years of success.

March is Women’s History Month, making it particularly fitting to highlight Hazel Wetherford, one of the many strong and hard-working women that have worn the title of MMANC President.

An active member since 2008, Hazel Wetherford had her go as MMANC President in 2014. Hazel’s mentors inspired her to pursue a career in local government. They encouraged and supported her aspirations, much like the community she found in MMANC.

“MMANC provided me with lasting friendships, a wide network of peers that I can call on and the opportunity to give back to our profession,” commented Hazel. “The organization provided me with leadership skills and sharpened my skills in many areas.”

Hazel currently serves as economic development director for the City of Dublin, a City in which she has worn many hats. Before joining the Economic Development Department, she held positions as assistant to the city manager and the parks and community services business manager. Hazel continues to find fulfillment in giving back to the community and seeing the difference her work makes.

“MMANC was and still is the premier organization for public service professionals,” added Hazel.
