JOB OPPORTUNITY 

The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the position of Parking Services Manager in the Public Works Department! In this role, you will have the opportunity to help advance safety, equitable mobility, and financial sustainability for the City by planning, organizing and administering parking services programs.

You’ll manage a variety of City parking programs including metered parking, special event parking, and the electric vehicle charging program. You will also be involved in parking fine policy development, parking citation adjudication, and management of major projects and acquisitions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is:
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college with major courses in business administration, public administration, or a closely related field, and four (4) years of experience with management and supervisory responsibility for revenue collection functions or business facility management and development. Progressively responsible related experience may be substituted for the college course work on a year-for-year basis.

Other requirements include:

  • Possession of a valid certification as an Administrator of Public Parking (CAPP) by the International Parking Institute
  • Ability to travel to various locations within and outside the City of Berkeley to fulfill the job responsibilities. When driving on City business, the incumbent must maintain a valid California Class C or higher driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.

In addition to the qualifications above, our ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge of parking meter systems, technology, and policies; skills related to operational, strategic, and contract management; and experience in municipal and community engagement.
