The City of Foster City is looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative Accountant I/II to join our Financial Services department! This position performs a variety of professional accounting duties including auditing financial records, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, supporting annual budget development, and providing guidance to City staff on accounting procedures. The ideal candidate is motivated, reliable, and committed to high standards of accuracy and customer service.
Education and Experience
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
Education: Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or public administration, or a related field.
Experience:
Accountant I: One (1) year of professional accounting program experience.
Accountant II: Two (2) years of experience as an Accountant I with the City of Foster City or three (3) years of professional governmental accounting experience.
Management reserves the right to offer the higher level Accountant II position to candidates whose qualifications meet the established criteria.
