The City of Half Moon Bay is recruiting for a Director of Community Development who will be responsible for managing the City’s activities associated with planning, building, code enforcement, inspection, public works maintenance, administration and operational direction to the Community Development Department, the Director is responsible for ensuring a seamless permitting process.  The Director advises the City Manager and/or Assistant City Manager on matters pertaining to the departmental functions.

The incumbent will have a broad knowledge of local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations applicable to community development operations.  A proven ability to establish credibility and gain trust of diverse stakeholders, including elected officials, staff, and community members.  The ideal candidate is a working manager who enjoys training, mentoring, and engaging with staff and the community.
