The City of Lodi, California is seeking a forward-thinking and collaborative Community Development Director to help guide the City through an exciting period of growth, revitalization, and organizational momentum. This is a rare opportunity to join a supportive executive leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping Lodi’s built environment, development processes, and long-term vision
The ideal candidate is a customer-focused, business-friendly leader with deep expertise in planning and community development, strong political acumen, and a collaborative management style. This individual will be a trusted advisor to the City Manager and City Council, a visible presence in the community, and a mentor to staff—balancing regulatory integrity with responsiveness and innovation,
Annual salary up to $201,619.74, plus a comprehensive benefits package including CalPERS retirement, deferred compensation match, generous leave, medical/dental/vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and a 9/80 work schedule with alternating Fridays off
