The Department of Public Works is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and effective Utilities Manager to provide day-to-day management of the City’s Drinking Water System and the City’s Storm Water and Sanitary Sewer Collection Systems. This is a fast paced position that will be key in the City’s efforts to modernize operations, mentoring and leading high performing maintenance operations, and ensuring continuity of essential services for the Milpitas community.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned and experienced utility manager that looks forward to collaborative and creative problem solving and implementing impactful service delivery improvements. Candidate should possess key professional certifications; those with a valid Water Distribution Operations Certificate Grade D4, or higher, are highly preferred.
This position will direct, plan, organize, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate the maintenance operations of the Utility Maintenance Division including: to provide high level staff and technical support relative to utilities maintenance operations; assist in the determination of overall policy for the department and division functions; ensure all activities are performed in compliance with all applicable regulatory, operational, procedural and budget guidelines; and coordinate necessary activities with other City departments, outside agencies and the general public.
