About the Position
The City of Monterey is currently recruiting for a Senior Street Maintenance Worker. This is a full-time position based in the Streets Division of the Public Works Department. The Streets Division is responsible for City street maintenance and repair, pavement, and curb making, installing directional, parking, and traffic signage, and maintaining the sanitary sewer and storm drain systems.
Salary: $62,136.00 – $75,456.00 Annually

Position Summary
Under general supervision, to perform semi-skilled and skilled work in the maintenance and repair of streets, sewer services and mains, and related public works; and to do related work as required.
Typical Qualifications
Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school or completion of GED and two years of experience in street and sewer maintenance and repair activities.
License & Certification
Must possess a valid California Driver’s License upon time of appointment and be insurable with the City’s standard insurance rate, unless otherwise approved by appointing authority.
Ability to acquire and maintain Class B California Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record.
