The City of Palo Alto Utilities Department is ramping up major projects in infrastructure which need management support in the areas of:
- Financial Oversight – budget development, financial forecasting, source and use statement, and expenditure monitoring.
- Performance Analysis – collect & analyze data, define metrics, and create meaningful statistical reports.
- Project and Program Management – monitoring timelines, ensuring compliance, and providing accurate status reports.
- Business Process Development – for service delivery modifications and new fiber-to-premises internet services.
The Ideal Candidate will have experience in the above areas as well as:
- A minimum of 3 years of analytical and technical experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, public administration or a related field.
- Public sector experience to inform communication, procurement, hiring and compliance practices.
- A critical thinking, problem-solving and curious mindset.
- Enterprise-level financial management including Operating and Capital Budgets and Utility Rates.
- Knowledge of oversight agencies related to utilities with experience in public mandate compliance reporting.
- Statistical reporting experience along with comfort with public presentations to Council and boards.
- Adept with software and technology including Excel, ERP, CIS and customer portals
