The City of Pittsburg’s Housing Authority seeks a dynamic and experienced professional for the position of Housing Manager.

Salary: $127,656 – $155,172

The Housing Manager exercises management responsibility and administrative and technical controls for the Housing Choice Voucher program.  The incumbent is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the work performed by Housing Authority staff; ensures all operations and programs function in an efficient and effective manner in accordance with federal, state, local and adopted rules and regulations; represents the division to the Board, outside agencies, developers and other municipalities; and collaborates with the Department Director to develop policies and procedures documenting department practices and performance expectations.  The City’s commitment to creating sustainable housing programs has positively impacted the lives of many individuals and families in the community.  This position will play a pivotal role in the planning, development, and execution of the City’s housing initiatives.

*Outstanding verbal/written communication and customer service skills that include the ability to explain housing information to a diverse population with various levels of understanding; maintain good working relationships with HUD, Commissioners, and others.
*Great interpersonal skills that include high degree of integrity, tact, and respect for others.
*A lifelong learner who stays informed about housing policies, regulations, and industry trends.
*Leadership experience that will assist in supervising, motivating, training, and evaluating staff.
*Problem solver who will manage challenges proactively and can make complex and sensitive decisions regarding personnel and program actions.
*Familiarity with housing software systems including Yardi; knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
*Willingness to obtain various HUD related certifications within a year of employment.
