Management Analyst – Waste and Recycling Division
Position Overview
The City of Pleasanton is seeking a Management Analyst to support the Waste and Recycling Division within the Public Works Department. This position provides high-level management support, program oversight, and strategic analysis for the City’s waste management and recycling programs, with emphasis on SB 1383 implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee SB 1383 implementation, including monitoring, enforcement, procurement, and edible food recovery
• Analyze waste data and evaluate program effectiveness to enhance recycling and sustainability efforts
• Lead the Recycling Coordinator position
• Represent the City on intergovernmental committees and agencies
• Conduct research, develop recommendations, and implement new programs
• Assist with department budget preparation and administration
• Serve as liaison between the department and other city departments, committees, and community groups

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Public Administration or closely related field
• Four (4) years of professional experience related to the department or program, with at least two (2) years of journey-level work for a public agency
• Valid California Driver’s License

• Financial analysis, budgeting, and statistical methodologies
• Modern office practices and computer software
• Strong organizational and project management abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work with the public and all levels of City staff
