ABOUT THE CITY MANAGER’S OFFICE:
The Assistant to the City Manager provides advanced administrative and analytical support to the City Manager, Assistant/Deputy City Managers and indirectly to the City Council. This position offers a fast-paced, highly creative, and meaningful work experience with opportunities for continued learning and growth.
The City Manager’s Office provides strategic leadership and oversight for the entire organization, ensuring the City Council’s mission and vision are carried out effectively.
The City Manager, Assistant City Manager, Deputy City Managers, and administrative staff all work cohesively to best serve Team RC and deliver exceptional service to the community at-large. This collaborative approach extends across all city departments, guiding and supporting the organization’s efforts to achieve the City Council’s strategic goals.

You’ll be responsible for:
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the City Manager’s Office, providing support and leadership for a variety of multi-departmental programs and initiatives.
- Providing complex administrative and coordination support to the City Manager and City Manager Team, including logistics for annual projects and programs, preparation and follow up for meetings, presentations, and travel.
- Overseeing the City Manager Office’s budget, supporting and/or leading CIP projects, evaluating fiscal impacts on a variety of legislation, programs, and services.
- Leading the City’s legislative advocacy program, researching, writing, administrating, and reporting on a variety of opportunities for grants and awards.
- Conducting complex and sensitive administrative, operational, and management analyses, studies, and research projects using appropriate research and statistical techniques.
- Representing the City in relations with the community, advisory committees, local, state, and federal agencies ,and professional organizations.
- Participating as a member of the City’s leadership team.
