The Community Development Department in the City of San Leandro is seeking a dedicated professional to serve as an Administrative Assistant III.  This exciting opportunity will provide day-to-day administrative and logistical support to the Planning Division, compiling data for informational purposes, projects or special reports, preparing agendas for board/commission meetings, and coordinate and monitor daily administrative support needs of office. Key attributes of a successful candidate include the ability to manage complex scheduling, complete daily tasks, understand and adhere to critical deadlines, maintain and update several databases, and assist customers, both internal and external.  The ideal candidate will be flexible, possess strong organizational skills with a penchant for details, demonstrate sound judgment and problem-solving skills, and exhibit a willingness to take on new challenges. The Administrative Assistant III must be dedicated to communicating effectively and cultivating successful working relationships with others, including staff at all levels and outside stakeholders.

Education and Experience Guidelines:  Any combination equivalent to experience and education that would most likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be at least two years of relevant, increasingly responsible experience in general administrative support, preferably in the public sector, and a high school diploma or certified equivalent (GED), supplemented by course work in office, business or public administration, management and supervision, or a closely-related field.
