The City of Stockton is seeking to fill one (1) vacancy for an Executive Assistant to the Mayor in the Mayor’s Office.

Under direction and at the pleasure of the Mayor, provides varied and often confidential administrative assistance to the Mayor and associated staff;  responsibilities include support at meetings and regular contact with government officials, City Council or board or commission members, representatives of business or community organizations, the public, and City personnel.  Maintains the Mayor’s calendar by processing meeting requests (vets requests with appropriate staff, schedules meetings, and arranges for meeting details); organizes meetings by notifying participants, making room arrangements; and preparing required informational materials.  In addition, they will receive and screens visitors, telephone calls and emails, providing information and resolving complaints which may require the use of judgment and interpretation of policies and procedures, prepare ceremonial recognition documents.  May attend offsite meetings, events, or jobsite visits.



Possession of a high school diploma or a GED certificate, and four (4) years of office administration experience or completion of a higher education program.  Possession of a college degree from an accredited college or university with coursework in governmental, community or business administration is desirable, but not required.

Other Requirements:

Possession of a valid California Class C Driver License prior to appointment.
