Purchasing Officer

We are looking for an experienced public procurement professional to lead the Purchasing Division in the Department of Finance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of proficiency with all different types of solicitations including Requests for Proposals, Invitations to Bid, Requests for Qualifications, as well as cooperative, leveraged procurements. Working for Sunnyvale as the Purchasing Officer will be both challenging and rewarding as the city continues to increase the number of major projects implemented throughout the city. The centralized procurement division leads procurements for all goods and services, including complex public works, software, equipment, and consultant procurements. Under general direction of the Director of Finance, the Purchasing Officer leads the division, including leading and executing both complex and straight forward procurements.  The Purchasing Officer also ensures compliance with all local, State, and Federal requirements on construction, goods, and service procurements while participating as a member of the Finance Department’s leadership team.
