Join the City of Tracy as our next Assistant Director of Parks, Recreation and Community Services!
We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as the Assistant Director of Parks, Recreation and Community Services.
In this leadership role, you will work closely with the Director to oversee the planning, coordination, and management of community programs, recreational activities, and park services that enhance the quality of life for residents. This position may oversee recreation activities, including special programming, facilities management, parks planning and development, parks maintenance operations, various community outreach efforts and will serve as the City Liaison to the Parks and Community Services Commission.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in one or more of the following areas: recreation management, parks operations, parks planning, and related programming. In addition, the ideal candidate will have experience in program and project management, budget oversight, and working with City Councils and Commissions and will possess exceptional customer service and collaboration skills!

Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in recreation administration, public administration, business administration, or a related field and two (2) years of responsible management experience parks and/or community services programs.
Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid Class C California driver’s license upon appointment.
May be required to complete National Incident Management System (NIMS) Training.
