Pool Manager will assists in planning, organizing, directing and supervising swimming activities and aquatic programs at assigned pools; ensuring that swim lessons are taught to American Red Cross and departmental standards; trains, schedules, and supervises staff; assists in staff evaluations; , inspects pool facilities and equipment for safety; coordinates, supervises and performs the maintenance of pool and facilities; prepares reports of accidents and incidents; administers first aid as necessary; assists in implementing all emergency procedures in case of a accident or injury; assures time cards are completed correctly and in a timely manner; completes required paperwork; maintains good public relations; and performs other related duties as assigned.

• Ensuring that swim lessons are taught to American Red Cross and departmental standards.
• Trains, schedules, and supervises staff; assists in staff evaluations.
• Inspects pool facilities and equipment for safety.
• Coordinates, supervises and performs the maintenance of pool and facilities.
• Prepares reports of accidents and incidents.
• Administers first aid as necessary.
• Assists in implementing all emergency procedures in case of a accident or injury.
• Assures time cards are completed correctly and in a timely manner.
• Completes required paperwork.

• Performs routine chemical tests.
• Monitors, maintains and inventories equipment and supplies.
• Trains and schedules volunteers.
• Serves as a swim instructor, lifeguard, and cashier as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications & RequirementsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of training and experience which would provide the required knowledge and skill. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and skill would be:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent; 2-3 years of college preferred.

Experience: Three (3) years as a lifeguard/instructor, including working in swimming pool management.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES: A valid California Driver’s license; must possess the following current certificates prior to placement at worksite: Water Safety Instructor (WSI), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for the Professional Rescuer, Title 22 of the CA Health and Safety Code, Standard First Aid and Lifeguard Training. Lifeguard Instructor (LGI), CPR Instructor, Standard First Aid Instructor, EMT, and CPO certifications highly desirable.
