The current vacancies are in the Adult System of Care Division of the Health and Human Services Department; however, the eligible list resulting from this recruitment may also be used department-wide to fill future positions in the Adult System of Care, the Children’s System of Care and Public Health divisions.

The Adult System of Care’s Substance Use Services Program is seeking to fill one Senior Client Services Practitioner vacancy. This position will assist with the administration and continued development of the Drug Medi-Cal Organized Delivery System (DMC-ODS) and its related programs including, but not limited to, substance use screening clinic, care coordination services, perinatal services, peer support services, and recovery services. Duties include providing leadership and training to assigned subordinate staff in various aspects of the SUDs program; assisting with management of treatment authorization and referral list prioritization; maintaining and monitoring of multi-site compliance for site reviews to ensure compliance with new regulations; participating in screening clinic rotation and carrying a small caseload of care coordination clients.

The additional Client Services Practitioner vacancy is on the Adult Reintegration Team (ART) Team and requires licensed clinical staff to assist with oversight of grant funded programs involving forensic and Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) services. The senior will be responsible for assisting in monitoring annual program budgets and ensuring services provided meet program expectations and maximize fiscal interests of the county. This position will also help monitor court reporting and regularly review documentation for compliance. In addition, this position will assist in the Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center set to open in May 2022 and will coordinate scheduling/staffing in this 24/7 program and will assist in overseeing programming and documentation. They will also serve as liaison with contracted providers who will staff the Center after hours and assist the Crisis Services Supervisor with any other needs relative to Urgent Care Center.

Minimum Qualifications –

Experience: Three years of responsible experience performing duties similar to a Client Services Practitioner in Placer County with at least one year of qualifying experience at the journey level.

Training: A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in social work, psychology, or counseling which meets the eligibility requirements for licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) by the State Board of Behavioral Science Examiners.

Required License or Certificate:

  • May require possession of a State of California license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
  • May need to possess a valid driver’s license as required by the position. Proof of adequate vehicle insurance and medical clearance may also be required.
