Human Resources Analysts perform professional human resources services to departments across the organization. The analyst works closely with department managers, supervisors and employees in the interpretation and application of personnel policies and regulations, counseling managers and employees on human resources procedures and practices and performing a variety of analytical studies and projects. In this specific area of assignment, the analyst works with assigned departments to develop staffing plans, strategies, and timelines to ensure competent and diverse candidate pools while also participating in classification studies and classification plan maintenance and is an integral part of the centralized Human Resources division.

In addition, the ideal candidate has a demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team environment, working respectfully, collaboratively and developing and maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues, clients, and the public. Public sector experience in recruitment is highly desirable.

Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in business or public administration, industrial relations, public policy, psychology or a field related to the work and one year of experience equivalent to a Human Resources Analyst I performing professional level human resources work requiring use of the knowledge and abilities listed in the class specification. Experience in technical human resources work may be substituted for the education on a year for year basis.
