The County of Marin seeks a bold and visionary leader serving as a key strategist for the County
organization. Leading a robust and talented Human Resources Department, the Director of
Human Resources will help develop innovative and transformative policies, programs, and
systems through an equity lens to ensure the County continues to be a dynamic organization.
An at-will position, the director will report to the County Administrator and work daily with
department heads from 22 other County departments.

Considerable training, education, and experience that would provide the opportunity
to acquire the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed. Typically, any combination of
education and experience equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or
university with major coursework in Public or Business Administration, Personnel
Management, or a related field, and five (5) years of professional human resources
experience plus two (2) years of senior management experience in a unionized
Leadership experience with major human resources systems change, organizational
restructuring, work process re-engineering, and public management, which included
labor relations experience is highly desired.
