Assistant Director, Animal Care Services

Under general direction of the Director, the Assistant Director, Animal Care Services plans, directs, manages, supervises, and coordinates the day-to-day activities and operations of the Department of Animal Care Services including animal control, kennel operations, adoption program, rescue program, foster program, veterinary operations, and administration; and coordinates assigned activities with other departments, outside agencies, and the general public.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Either: 1a. A Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, or a closely related field.

AND

1b. Two years of full-time, paid experience performing program management and staff supervision in an animal care and/or regulation program or organization.

Or: 2. Six years of full-time, paid experience in animal care and/or regulation program or organization, two years of this experience must have been performing program management and staff supervision.
