The Director, Family and Children’s Services is an executive leadership position under the general direction of the Director of the Social Services Agency. The Director will plan, organize and direct through subordinate assistant directors and managers, the activities of the Department of Family and Children Services within the Social Services Agency. Programs within this department include: Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline, Child Abuse and Neglect Investigations, Ongoing Case Management, Adoptions, Foster Home Recruitment and Licensing, Child Abuse Prevention, Family Preservation, the Children’s Continuum of Care and Community-Based Services.
Required Background and Experience:
The knowledge and abilities would typically be attained through education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in Social Work, Public or Business Administration, or a directly related field and a minimum of five (5) years experience in an administrative/managerial capacity directing the provision of client services in children service programs.
