Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

In this position, you will function as the subject matter expert for the solicitation process, drafting and/or reviewing contract language, developing evaluation criteria of bids quotes and proposals, coordinating the review and selection process for the awarding of contracts, and conducting negotiations with proposers or vendors. In addition, you will also develop and implement the Supplier Diversity program initiatives with an emphasis on small business, minority owned and women owned enterprises, as well as ensuring access to supplies and materials necessary to accomplish the Agency mission.

Competencies and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Management, or a related field, and three years of increasingly responsible experience in procurement, purchasing and/or contracting with a public agency, or in the construction industry and/or real estate management/development, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This position also requires possession and maintenance of a valid California Driver’s License.

The employee must regularly lift, push, pull and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift, push, pull and/or move up to 5 pounds, and occasionally lift, push, pull and/or move more than 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
