The Golden Empire Transit District is hiring a Human Resources Manager!

Golden Empire Transit District (GET) is the primary public transportation provider for the Bakersfield Urbanized Area. The District’s legal boundary includes Bakersfield city limits as well as adjacent unincorporated areas of Kern County. GET has a fleet of more than 90 compressed natural gas buses and Hydrogen fuel cell buses equipped with wheelchair lifts and bike racks. GET services 16 routes, which operate 7 days a week and transport more than 6 million passengers each year with its fixed-route buses. The District is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated professional to fill the role of Human Resources Manager.

The Human Resources Manager will perform a wide range of human resource responsibilities in a rewarding and collaborative environment. Responsibilities include providing stakeholders with solution-driven recommendations and outcomes in the implementation of human resources programs, including talent acquisition and onboarding, leave management, employee and labor relations, workers compensation, classification and compensation, regulatory compliance, COVID 19 policies, OSHA and other related illness and injury prevention programs. A successful candidate will have sufficient experience in the full spectrum of human resources services to hit the ground running managing the day-to-day operations. Additionally, a well-qualified candidate will have proven success in building and maintaining solid working relationships with management, peers, and staff.
