Monterey One Water (M1W) is seeking a Director of Information Systems/Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to work at the forefront of innovation at the intersection of supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) and information technology systems. This is a newly created position that will help lead the organization into an exciting future. As a key member of the executive team, you’ll lead the charge in overseeing, planning, and optimizing every facet of the information technology infrastructure. From network and hardware maintenance to cybersecurity and strategic planning, you’ll be at the helm. You’ll take the lead in developing and updating the Information Services and SCADA Master Plans, ensuring the enduring success and reliability of the information technology systems. The CTO will oversee a department of seven staff, as well as an annual operating budget of approximately $4 million. THE JOB & IDEAL CANDIDATE
This newly crafted role will lead a team of seven and manage a budget of approximately $4 million. The CTO will oversee an organizational wide ERP system transition while leading development of a SCADA and IS Master Plan. This ideal candidate will bridge the worlds of IS and SCADA seamlessly and leverage their foundational knowledge in cybersecurity to protect the organization’s security systems. This forward-thinking visionary and strategic planner will bring extensive experience in managing SaaS technology and Office 365 applications and will efficiently manage a growing network of 90 users across two locations.
The ideal candidate will foster collaboration and teamwork. Their visionary and creative leadership will help M1W navigate the evolving technological landscape and lead the organization in innovation. The ideal candidate will use exceptional project management skills to deliver successful technology solutions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of experience and education/training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in computer science, network engineering, or related field.
- Experience: 10 years of increasingly responsible experience involving the planning, development, installation, implementation, integration, testing, and evaluation of information technology systems, including five years of supervisory or administrative experience.
- Driver’s License: Possession of a valid California driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and insurable by the Agency’s insurance at the standard rate.
Desired:
- Certification: Possession of, or ability to obtain, certification as a Microsoft Certified: Security Administrator Associate and/or Enterprise Administrator Expert.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
An annual salary of $205,000 to $219,000 DOE/DOQ, plus a generous benefits package
