The Department of Health and Human Services is currently seeking to fill two Physical Therapist vacancies. The schedule for both positions is 32 hours per week, Monday-Thursday, excluding holidays.

Duties include planning and performing therapy for children with neurologic and/or orthopedic diagnoses such as cerebral palsy, myelomeningocele, amputations, arthritis or similar conditions and provides evaluative assessments and treatments for newborns to 21 years of age.

Each level in this job series has different minimum qualifications. To participate in the recruitment at the I level, II level, or both levels, you must complete and submit separate applications and supplemental questionnaires for each recruitment.

Minium Qualification

Experience

  • Physical Therapist I: No experience required.
  • Physical Therapist II: Two years of responsible physical therapist experience performing duties similar to a Physical Therapist I with Placer County, including one year working with children providing medically based therapy in an outpatient, inpatient, or rehabilitation setting.

Training

  • Graduation from an accredited college of physical therapy.

License or Certificate

  • Possession of a current valid license as a Physical Therapist issued by the Physical Therapy Board of California.
  • Proof of adequate vehicle insurance and medical clearance may also be required.
  • May need to possess a valid driver’s license as required by the position.
