The Valley Consortium for Medical Education (VCME) is seeking a Family Medicine Program Director / Patient Care + Preceptor (Program Director/Director) to lead its esteemed residency program in Modesto, California. This full-time role can be divided into both administrative and clinical practice (see details in Salary & Benefits Section). VCME is nationally recognized for its excellence in community-based medical education. Program residents receive family medicine training from a talented group of nine core and 20-30 adjunct faculty who specialize in various areas including geriatrics, sports medicine, obstetrics, women’s health, gender-affirming care, pediatrics, population health, addiction medicine, hospice and palliative care, psychiatry, and behavioral health. VCME’s residents practice outpatient care at an innovative partner clinic, while they receive inpatient training at an award-winning partner hospital. SALARY / HOURLY COMPENSATION: Annual Salary Range $225,000 – $410,000 DOE/DOQ
At minimum, the Program Director will work .60, and up to 1.0 full-time employment (FTE). When not working in the Program Director capacity, other employment opportunities will be provided to work on the clinical side, devoted to patient care and precepting residents. Therefore, there will be a salary and hourly wage that needs to be negotiated:
PROGRAM DIRECTOR: Working a part-time, minimum hours, no less than .60 hours, salary will be negotiated between $225 – $250k (salary range will depend on experience, background, education, ability to perform the work, and interpersonal competence).
PROGRAM DIRECTOR: Working as a full-time, salaried employee (FTE), salary will be negotiated between $370 – $410k annually (salary range will depend on experience, background, education, ability to perform the work, and interpersonal competence.)
CLINICIAN + PRECEPTOR: providing patient care or precepting residents, hourly wages will be negotiated between $150-$200/hr.
Both the Director and Clinician positions may require a portion of your work to be during evenings or weekends. However, this will be on a rotation basis and not likely to occur more than once a month.
