Each year, the Municipal Management Association of Northern California recognizes individuals who support the local government management profession.

The President’s Award is presented at the Immediate Past President’s discretion to a member who has gone above and beyond to support MMANC during the prior year.

The Rising Star Award was established by MMANC in 2007 as part of the Inaugural Women’s Leadership Summit. The Rising Star Award is presented to a female MMANC member that demonstrates the leadership skills crucial to sound local government and the ethics that are core to MMANC, seeks out opportunities for professional development, and has demonstrated exemplary performance in her local government-focused career

The Career Excellence Award was established in 2007 as part of the Inaugural Women’s Leadership Summit. This award is selected by Women Leading Government (WLG), a professional organization committed to the development of women leaders in the field of public service. The recipient of the award should be someone who is dedicated to the field of local government, has taken a proactive approach to her own personal and professional development, and contributes to the community as a leader and facilitator.

The Wes McClure Outstanding Assistant Award was designed to recognize outstanding achievement and exemplary commitment in work performed by a full member of MMANC, plus dedication to the profession. Nominations are solicited from members as well as from local government chief executives throughout Northern California.

The Ed Sajor Memorial Student Award seeks to recognize outstanding Student Members who attend a recognized professional school for the purpose of entering into the profession of public administration or local government management. The award was named in honor of the late Ed Sajor, a PG&E executive who was very supportive of the California City Management Foundation and who passed away in 1987.

The Regional Professional Award is given to an outstanding Region Co-Chair/Board Member who has demonstrated a commitment to the work of MMANC.

The Booster Award is presented to a non-MMANC professional or organization that has significantly supported MMANC both as an organization and its activities.

The Legacy Award is presented to a deserving individual who has provided longstanding consistent support for the organization.
